Much ado about Everything!

Good golly, so much going on these days! The last prisoner from Gitmo is being held in the States, Spring is creeping into the soggy cracks of Seattle, I am preparing for a month long road trip with my grandpa and Bridget and I are moving. Among countless other quibbles and catastrophes!

We continue to plug away at various goals and pursuits, planting seeds and remaining open to what the wind will blow in.
If there is one thing people can benefit from I think it is getting used to things changing. Things can only change for the worse within your degree of expectation. If you have 20 billion dollars and you lose half that would may well seem like a calamity!
Less is more, unless we are talking in terms of love.
Then MORE is MORE!

I am reading a wonderful book, called Generation Me. Based on 13 years of studies, and the study of studies...it takes apart my generation, those born in the 70's-90's. It reveals that most of my peers are apathetic, narcissistic, unengaged and disillusioned, compared to generations past.
Of course all of this is corollary with depression, violence, mental illness and physical well being.

It is a little old, written in 06, before the world as we knew it trembled like a house of cards, before the election of Obama and before the true implications of the Bush Administration were felt.

So I ask myself now, are younger people more engaged, more pissed and action oriented?
Are we sinking further into the mire of self defeat and inaction?
Are we mobilized, are we even interested in the fate of the whole frigging planet and the course of our lives???

What do you think?
